Hey! I’ve got a beef here. And it only interests me. Long story short: if we can dig up dinosaur remains from 65 MIL. years ago, why haven’t we found any fossil evidence of past civilizations or alien invasion between then and now?

Really. Just imagine what could happen in a million years. In the past 300,000, humans advanced from a hunter-gatherer society to space-dwelling computer using, salad shooter having intelligent beings. You know what I think? It could be two things. One–we are simply too boring for other species to worry about coming to see us. Of course we think we’re the shit, we are all we know. Our puny brains are only capable of putting ourselves on a pedestal without room to imagine anything better. So one, we are a puny little rock bordering the galaxy, “Mostly harmless.”

Two! Knowledge is power, but maybe at some point, everyone who is anyone simply blows themselves up or grey-goos themselves to death. Even today we are just starting to conceive of self replicating machinery that feeds on its environment for energy and reproduction. What do they care if they eat their makers?

To notice that no one has visited our planet within the past few million years says to me that suicide comes before deep space travel. But you know what? We’ll never know that’s the case until we do it.
